For more than a quarter century this Honolulu izakaya has been known but to a few devotees of country-style Japanese sake and comfort dishes. It relaunched in April 2009 under new management, but you wouldn't know it except for a new sushi bar, flat screen TV, and English translations on the daily specials board. Patronized after hours by some of our State's celebrated chefs, this "tiny Japanese treasure trove" serves up agedashi, suemono, tempura, aburi sushi (where fatty sushi is blow-torched for a couple seconds), yaki musubi and much more with your tiny cups of sake.
