| This Honolulu bakery needs no introduction! Opened in 1952 by Leonard and his wife, Margaret, the family that still runs Leonard's Bakery descend from the DeRego's who came to Hawaii in 1882 from San Miguel Island, Portugal. They were the first to introduce malasadas and Pao Doce to Hawaii, which have now become fixtures in Island gastronomy. Leonard Jr. is keeing the tradition alive with new creations like the malasada babies, Pao Doce, Pups, and malasada puffs. |
